LATEST RELEASES :
LMS 3F 0-6-0T ('Jinty') complete 'easy to assemble' electric kit  - price 645GBP. 'Palethorpes' Sausage van kits (6-wheeled) in GWR and LMS liveries. - price 259.95GBP  Revised easy to assemble wagon kits : RCH 5-Plank open (CMD1884 at 88.50GBP) and LMS Brake Van (CMD1885 at 149.95GBP), both with one-piece resin bodies and new resin underframes.

On display at The Gauge 3 Society's AGM in the 'forthcoming releases' category were, the (almost complete) GWR Dean Goods kit. Having an etched brass body, in contrast to other recent releases which have been in large part resin, this may well provide scope for the builder to adapt to live steam.
The pre-production GWR 'Manor' looked magnificent in its fully-lined green livery. A few improvements to the detailing are being made prior to going into production.

The plans for carriages are advancing well . The sides for a GWR 'Collett' gangwayed coach were on view. These are from (suitably reinforced) pre-cut and pre-formed plastic card with semi-flush glazed windows. A strong 'box' structure will be produced with internal partitions and a 'modular' moulded plastic roof (adaptable to suit any length of coach and for other designs with similar profile, e.g. LMS 'Stanier' stock). The kits will be supplied with RTR brass bogies. Initial plans are for the GWR full third, composite first/third and a brake composite (an ideal vehicle for 'tagging' on to a branch set as the 'through coach'). There remains the possibility of a brake third (and even a 'slip' coach)  being added if there is sufficient demand.

The revised 'easy build' wagon underframes in one-piece resin will simplify the aligning of running gear and brake parts (particularly in the case of the 8-shoe clasp brake types) and this type of construction is included in the recently redesigned LMS and LNER brake vans, RCH 5-plank open and the various box vans kits.

On the longer-wheelbase vehicles (such as Southern PMV and GWR Pasfruit/Fruit D) a three-point compensation suspension can now be supplied as an option.

Other new items of interest were the newly-introduced LMS 3F 0-6-0T ('Jinty'), the 6-wheeled 'Palethorpe's' Sausage van and the first sample driving wheels for the SR 'N' class Mogul....and indication that this project is progressing.

And one final 'offer' which caught my eye....for anyone interested in the RTR GWR 45XX (electric version, unpainted) there are a limited number available at the special price of 675GBP (list 999GBP) but only for a limited period commencing 10th March, so if you are interested make a note to contact GRS.
