Gauge 3 - Standard Gauge Modelling
The Gauge 3 Society AGM & Annual Show - 21st May 2022

The 31st AGM of the Gauge '3' Society will be held on Saturday 29th May 2021 at The Rufus Centre, Steppingley Road, Flitwick, Beds. MK45 1AH. An AGM Agenda is available in the Members-only section of this website.

30th Anniversary Celebrations - 18th September 2021

Our 30th Anniversary Celebration had to be postponed back in 2020 but it went ahead in September at The Rufus Centre, Flitwick, Bedfordshire.

Doors opened to Members and their Guests at 10.00am with tea and coffee available all day. A pre-packed buffet lunch was also provided, together with a '30th (31st) Birthday Cake' celebration later in the afternoon. Entry and refreshments were provided free to all Members (who had remembered to book their tickets before September 3rd).

There were two G3 exhibition layouts running in the main hall, plus the new 'Kelvedon Main' track which ran both live steam and battery electric locomotives all day outside in the car park. One feature was a live steam LNWR 'Cauliflower' locomotive, new from Williams Models. A number of Gauge '3' Traders were in attendance, together with a G3S 'Bring & Buy' stall and displays of Members models.

Mid afternoon, Roger Marsh gave a short (but most informative) presentation on " How to Build a Live Steam Engine in 13.5 hrs " about how some three hundred small engines had been mass produced in the early days of Garden Railways.

Many old friends were able to reunite and enjoy shared interests after several years of Covid restrictions and cancelled GTG events. In short - a very good time was had by all.
